Project Assessment Criteria
At ABRIR we assess church-planting projects on the basis of the following key pillars:
1. Biblical and Confessional Faithfulness
Doctrinal alignment with the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith and commitment to expository Bible teaching.
2. Leadership and Planting Plan
Assessment of the planters, a 3–5 year strategic plan and a support structure.
3. Partnership with local churches
With special emphasis on healthy relationships within the regional community of faith.
4. Sustainability and Transparency
A realistic budget, progressive financial viability and accountability.
What we ask a church planter
If you are thinking about planting a church, these are some of the questions we will talk through with you.
- Who do you want to reach?
- Where do they live?
- How do you plan to reach them?
- How long have you been praying for this project?
- Does your church know about this project?
- How will it affect your family?
- What kind of church do you hope to establish?
- Do you have a team?
- Is there already a church in the area?
- When would you start?
- Have you shared this project with others?
- Have you set clear goals?
- Are you and your spouse in agreement?
- Do you have experience working in a team?
- Do you need to learn the language?
